We all know America is a melting pot of people from all over the world, but yet many people still struggle with the idea of what an American looks like and who exactly is American. For many first generation Americans or immigrants who came to the U.S as a child, I have often wondered if there is a struggle when they feel connected to both their American culture and their  ethnic culture. Does that make them less American? How does all this translate in the workplace? Just a few things to think about as we get into this episode.

Joining me today to share THEIR “New American” perspectives are two of my friends and former HR counterparts.

These two ladies that you’ll hear from today are passionate, dedicated and hard working HR professionals, they truly approach HR with a heart, really putting the human aspect in HR. I’m really excited to have Ana Bolanos and Ghalia Naveed here today. We'll be discussing stereotypes, and some of their encounters and experiences in the workplace as first generation Americans.
